To mark this milestone, we hosted a celebratory coffee morning on Friday, 15th May, at our Mansfield base, honouring this occasion. We were delighted to welcome guests, staff, clients and, of course, the founder jacqui lewis, as we came together to celebrate the impact our small charity continues to make.
Jaqui founded it in 1998 initially as a small self-help group, later registering as a charity in 2001. From those humble beginnings 25 years ago, she has gone on to support 1500 survivors – a remarkable legacy of strength and solidarity
Many survivors who access support here describe our services as nothing short of transformation- life-changing and, for some, life-saving. Childhood sexual abuse is one og the most profound and devastating traumas a person can have. Its impact doesent simply fade away; it follows survivors into adulthood, shaping relationships, confidence and wellbeing
Our mission is to help survivors reclaim their voice, rebuild their sencse og self and move forward on a healing journey that allows them to take back control of their lifes.
We are proud to say the ethos of putting survivors at the centre of all we do, taking a long-term approach and working innovatively, is as strong as ever
Delighted attendees of the day include: Angela Kondolo – Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner, Mayor of Mansfield – Andy Abrahams, councillors Caroline Ellis and Angie Jackson, the Community and Partnership Team from Everyturn Mental Health, as well as other sector partners from Mansfield CVS, brighter mansfeild, Standguide, Inspire, and DHL. We were also delighted to welcome one of our neighbours, Bhatia Best Solicitors. It was fantastic to see staff and clients too, talking proudly about what we do
