Clients from the SHE-roes Lounge came together this spring to give something back to the service that supports them throughout the year — by organising a heartfelt community fundraiser at St Peter’s Church Centre in Mansfield.
Over the course of the event, clients and staff baked homemade sweet treats and created beautiful handmade jewellery and crafts to sell. Their efforts, teamwork, and creativity paid off, raising an impressive £371 to support the ongoing work of the service.
The SHE-roes Lounge and peer group is a weekly, women-only space offering survivors the opportunity to take part in self-development courses, social activities, and moments of fun and connection. Running every week from 10am to 3pm, the service is widely described by clients as transformational, providing a safe and supportive environment to rebuild confidence and wellbeing.
The group plays a vital role in helping women improve their mental and physical health, develop new skills, and build a strong sense of belonging. This fundraiser is a powerful example of the community spirit it fosters — with clients not only benefiting from the service, but actively helping to sustain it for others.
