S.H.E. UK is delighted to have joined the Mansfield & Ashfield Business Network, strengthening our connection with the local business community and creating new opportunities to share our work, build relationships and explore ways businesses can support our mission.
Based in Mansfield, S.H.E. UK supports adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse and adults who have experienced rape or sexual assault. Our survivor-centred services include therapy, telephone support and our SHE-roes Lounge, alongside practical support and opportunities for survivors to connect with others and move forward in their lives.
Joining the Mansfield & Ashfield Business Network gives us the opportunity to introduce our work to a wider audience of local businesses and organisations, while also learning more about the businesses and people who make up our local community.
Building connections within our local business community
For charities like S.H.E. UK, strong relationships with local businesses can make a real difference.
Businesses have a wealth of skills, expertise, contacts and resources that can potentially help charities to develop and grow. Equally, working with a local charity can provide businesses and their teams with opportunities to make a meaningful contribution to their community and support an issue that affects far more people than many realise.
We hope that our membership of the network will lead to conversations about how we can work together, whether that is through fundraising, corporate volunteering, sharing expertise, raising awareness or developing longer-term partnerships.
There may also be opportunities for businesses to support specific S.H.E. UK projects and campaigns, helping us to continue providing vital services to survivors across Nottinghamshire.
Why local support matters
The need for our services remains significant.
Many of the people who come to S.H.E. UK have lived with the impact of sexual abuse or sexual violence for years, sometimes decades, before reaching out for support. Having access to specialist, trauma-informed services can be an important part of their journey towards recovery.
As a local charity, we are proud to be part of the Mansfield community. Developing stronger relationships with local businesses helps us to build a wider network of people who understand what we do and why our services are so important.
It also helps us to make sure that more people know that support is available.
Working together to make a difference
We are looking forward to getting to know other members of the Mansfield & Ashfield Business Network and exploring where our organisations might be able to work together.
Whether you are a small independent business, a larger local employer or a professional organisation, there are many ways you can support S.H.E. UK. Sometimes it can be as simple as sharing information about our services with your employees or networks. For others, it might mean organising a fundraising activity, offering professional expertise, sponsoring an event or developing a longer-term partnership.
Every connection helps us reach more people, build greater understanding and continue our work supporting survivors.
We are excited to be part of the Mansfield & Ashfield Business Network and look forward to meeting fellow members, sharing our story and discovering what we can achieve together.
If your business would like to find out more about S.H.E. UK or explore opportunities to work with us, we would love to hear from you.
