Strengthening Safety at S.H.E. UK with Life-Saving Equipment

At S.H.E. UK, our priority has always been to provide a safe, supportive environment for the individuals who access our services. Every day, we work with adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse and sexual violence, offering vital support that helps people rebuild their lives. Ensuring the wellbeing of our service users, staff, and volunteers is at the heart of everything we do, and that includes being prepared for medical emergencies.

Thanks to grant funding from Mansfield Building Society, we are pleased to now have a defibrillator installed at our premises, giving us the ability to respond quickly and effectively in the event of a cardiac emergency. In situations where every second matters, having access to this equipment can make a critical difference before emergency services arrive.

Like many charities, balancing essential service delivery with the cost of additional equipment can be challenging. Thanks to allocated funding and the support of a local business Defib4Life, we have been able to invest in a Lifepak CR2 Fully Automatic Defibrillator, along with a secure indoor cabinet to house it. This ensures the device is both accessible and protected, ready for use if it is ever needed.

Peace of mind for our community

Having a defibrillator on site provides reassurance not only for our team but also for everyone who visits S.H.E. UK. It strengthens our commitment to safeguarding and demonstrates our proactive approach to health and safety.

Cardiac arrests can happen unexpectedly, and immediate intervention significantly increases survival rates. With this equipment in place, our staff and volunteers are better equipped to act quickly and confidently in an emergency situation.

We are grateful for the support that made this possible. Working alongside organisations that share a commitment to community wellbeing allows us to enhance the services we provide and create a safer environment for all..
