These sessions help bridge the gap, offering guidance, stability, and connection in the lead up to therapy
Our telephone support service was born out of the COVID-19 pandemic when we saw firsthand how vital it had become for survivors waiting for therapy. During a time of isolation and uncertainty, these calls provided a crucial source of connection, support, and reassurance. Recognising the ongoing value, we have continued to offer this service to those awaiting the start of their one-to-one therapy. (This is after an initial assessment has been completed with us).
This service provides a safe and confidential space for survivors to share their current challenges, receive emotional support, and access information about additional resources. Through these calls, we signpost to relevant services, offer tools for coping in the moment, and provide a compassionate listening ear โ ensuring our clients do not feel alone.
While not a replacement for therapy, these sessions help bridge the gap, offering guidance, stability, and connection during what can often be a difficult waiting period.
A small but dedicated team within our charity offers these calls as often as every fortnight, for up to 30 minutes per session.
