Announcing Our 2024/25 Impact Report: Supporting Survivors, Changing Lives

We’re proud to share the latest Annual Impact Report from S.H.E. UK, highlighting a year of growth, resilience, and life-changing support for survivors of sexual abuse.

Behind every number in this report is a person rebuilding their life and thanks to our community, partners, and supporters, we’ve been able to reach more people than ever before.

Why This Work Matters

Childhood sexual abuse remains a significant issue across the UK, with millions of adults affected. The need for specialist, trauma-informed support continues to grow, and at S.H.E. UK, we are seeing that need firsthand, with referrals at their highest level in our history and over 100 people currently waiting for support.

Key Highlights from 2024/25

This year’s report showcases the real impact of our work:

  • 173 active service users supported
  • 2,408 one-to-one therapy sessions delivered
  • 2,062 additional support sessions provided
  • 236 new referrals received

The outcomes speak for themselves:

  • 84% of clients reported improved health and wellbeing
  • 83% felt better able to cope with everyday life
  • 95% felt more informed and empowered

These figures represent meaningful, lasting change, helping survivors move from crisis to confidence.

One of the most powerful parts of this year’s report is the story of “June” (name changed), who began therapy while pregnant and facing the removal of her child.

With ongoing support, June was able to process her trauma, rebuild stability, and ultimately regain care of her children. Today, she describes herself as a “proud, happy, stable single mother”. This a testament to the transformative power of the right support at the right time.

Growing to Meet the Need

Demand for our services continues to rise rapidly:

  • Client numbers have grown by 176% since 2022
  • Referrals have quadrupled in just three years
  • Therapy and support sessions have nearly doubled

To meet this demand, we’ve expanded our trainee therapist programme, strengthened partnerships, and secured major funding, including £300,000 from The National Lottery Community Fund to support our long-term sustainability.

This year also saw us:

  • Deliver trauma-informed training to local professionals
  • Strengthen safeguarding practices across the organisation
  • Increase national awareness through partnerships and ambassadors
  • Receive over 2,000 volunteer hours supporting our services

Together, these efforts are helping to create a more informed, compassionate society for survivors.
